I went to Eddie Hester\'s service station the other day for a \"fill \'er up\" and we got to chatting (which we do a lot) about the old days. We tried to come up with the price of a gallon of gas in the early 1960s and guessed anywhere from 25 cents to 35 cents. Eddie, his assistant, Jack White, and I then began recollecting when you could get trading stamps with your purchases. Eddie vividly recalled how his Dad and Mom passed out tons of Top Value stamps and how funny it was that some customers would carefully count them out before they pulled off the lot.
